Saxon Care Does the Big Knit 2019!
— July 19, 2020To kick off 2019, Saxon Care are tackling the Big Knit 2019 for Age UK, and we’re encouraging everyone to get involved and give it a go with us!
What is the Big Knit?
Age UK are a charity who provide help and support to anyone over the age of 50, offering anything from advice on how to combat loneliness to practical help and support.
Age UK have teamed up with Innocent Smoothies by asking people to knit tiny woollen hats for their Smoothie Bottles. In return, Age UK get 25p for every Smoothie sold and have raised an incredible £2.4 Million since 2003!
How to get started
Age UK have some great advice on how you can get involved, including example patterns of hats to get you up and running, which you can find by clicking here. Once you have knitted one (or more!), send them to us and we’ll do the rest!
We’re asking everyone, clients, carers, friends and family alike to dust off the knitting needles and help raise money for a fantastic charity!
Age UK are asking all hats to be donated by 31st July 2019, so now is a perfect time to get cracking!
