Cost of Home Care
We Can Help You Get the Care You Deserve
When deciding the best type of care for you or a loved one, we understand that each care option comes with its own features and benefits. Home Care and Live In care packages are a fantastic alternative to nursing or residential homes as they are competitive in how much they cost, with the added benefits offering a more personalised service and being able to stay in the comfort of your own home.
Using our professional home care service means that you can build positive relationships with the carers who visit, whilst staying safe in the knowledge that the people who are visiting are professionally trained and vetted. You can also rest easy in the knowledge that you won’t be left without support if your carer is unwell or on holiday, or worrying about being responsible for Tax, Insurance or holiday pay.
With Live in care, not only can you stay in the comfort of your own home and stick to your own routines, but you can also build a positive relationship with your live in carer.
When deciding on any elderly care for your loved one, it’s important to consider and plan for the associated financial costs. If your loved one’s savings aren’t enough to cover the cost of home care, they may be eligible to receive help from the local authority in funding and sourcing home care services.
Saxon Care offers support to both self-funding and social services funded clients.
Self Funded Care
Self-funded care, or private care, is when you pay for care yourself with no help from the local council.
State-funded care, or social-services-funded care, is when your care is paid for by the State, also referred to as: the Government, the local council, local authorities or social services.
Council Funded Care
Whether you or your loved ones are entitled to any financial help from the local authority depends on your income and savings. Local authority will carry out a financial assessment, taking into account things like your income and savings, to give an indication of how much help you would be entitled to. If you have savings above the threshold of £23,250, you will need to fund your care package privately.
