How do I know if care at home is right for me?

The initial decision to undertake care can often be a difficult one. It may be that individuals who value their independence are beginning to struggle with the daily routine, or alternatively they are receiving assistance from members of the family who themselves are struggling to cope. Receiving a high quality of care in the comfort of your own home may be just the solution. At Saxon Care, we recognise every individual has unique needs, which is why we tailor a care plan to cater for your requirements. Whether you are looking to retain or regain your independence, or need a higher level of care, the benefits of receiving care in your own home may be invaluable.

What times of the day are your carers available?

Our regular hours in the morning start from 7am until 2.30pm and in the evening range from 3.30pm until 10pm, however we provide services that range from 15 minute calls to live-in, 24 hour a day care. As well as this, our on-call department are available out of office hours and are on hand to help as much as possible. Please visit our care options page for more information.

Can you provide help with medication?

We are able to help prompt medication; however we are not normally able to administer it. In special circumstances where it is necessary for us to administer medication, we would ensure the correct training and authorisation has been given to our support workers.

How will I recognise a Saxon Care Support worker?

Our Carers are required to wear a Saxon Care purple tunic and carry an identity badge at all times.

Will I see the same support worker every day?

We attempt to limit the number of support workers you see whilst scheduling regular visits with the same support worker as often as possible. However due to absenteeism and planned holidays we ensure a team of support workers are available to meet your needs.

What is the iConnect system?

Saxon Care are one of the first domiciliary care agencies to invest in electronic call monitoring. Our system, 'iConnect', allows us to monitor the start, finish and duration of your visits, significantly minimising the risk of missed calls and providing the peace of mind that you or your loved ones are getting the care they require.

Can I get extra support at short notice?

We will always endeavour to provide extra support, no matter how short notice. As well as our office hours, our on-call department are available from 6am to 10pm at night to handle any requests you may have.

How do you recruit your support workers?

At Saxon Care we pride ourselves on the high standard of our support workers. Potential support workers go through a rigorous interview process, an enhanced CRB (Criminal records bureau) check and are required to provide two references.

How do I pay?

You can pay via standing order or cheque. Unfortunately, at this point in time, we are not able to facilitate direct debit payments.
